Something you should know before you unlocking your LG Arena SIM Card. This tutorial does not yet allow you to totally unlock your LG Arena SIM Card, but allows you to choose which operator you want to work with. This is repeatable as many time as you want, so it’s still pretty good (but you won’t be able to use another operator if you are not near your computer). Hopefully with a little more work, we’ll be able to have our phones unlock for several operators, or even all operators. LG-Arena info

Now, let’s get started the instruction: How to unlock your LG Arena SIM Card Steps

0 – What you need

Install everything on your computer (If your experiencing troubles during the process, try to uninstall everything from LG (including PC SUITE), reboot, reinstall USB drivers, and try again) LG Phone Problem and Solution

1 – Upload the STATIC_EEP part from your LG Arena phone

1.1
Start Flash Tool E2
Go to File>Settings
On the tab “Setup”, check that the Binary Mode is enabled
On the tab “Auto Start” select Auto Start (DSR / USB Detection)

1.2
On the main screen, go to the binary tab.
Select NAND as a Flash Type, and go on the Upload tab
On “Destination Binary File”, put the path of the file as you want to save it (e.g. : C:\STATIC_EEP.bin)
On “EBL Reference File” Select the file “06_BB_MPEH.fls”
Put 0x544FC000 as a start adress
and 0x00014000 as a length
Put Infineon USB driver as a Communication Driver

1.3
Go to File>USB Map Wizard
Click on Next
Plug in your phone(Off, without battery, without sim card)
When your phone is recognized, click on done and then unplug it

1.4
Click on Start
Click on Yes
Plug in your Phone(Off, without battery, without sim card) on the same slot where you had it recognized (you have 10 sec before time out / can be modified on the setting menu)
The uploading of your static EEP Part should be happening
Go on the path that you chose before, and your STATIC_EEP should be there !

2 – Choose your operator

2.1
The file you have is in fact your STATIC_EEP merged with your 06_BB_MPEH.fls, therefore, only the first 80Ko are interesting for us.
Open the file with your Hexadecimal Editor.

2.2
Go to this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code and find your operator code(the one you use, and the one you want to use)-(if longer than 5 digits, take the first 5)

2.3
Look in the hexadecimal editor for your operator code (Value should be starting at offset = 00000E50 column 2, and has a length of 5)
Replace it by the operator code you want to use (if typing it in decimal, change the value and the decimal part of your editor)
[Note : I’m looking either for a generic operator code, or a way to put several operators in a row in this space (separator between two operators ?) Thanks for any help(the static eep part of an unlocked phone could help ;-)]
Save your file

3 – Download the STATIC_EEP part to your LG Arena

3.1
Go back on FlashTool_E2
Still in Binary mode, choose Flash type = NOR and Download tab
“Projet (Hardware Setup)”= Use External File, and go and select “01_psi_large_block_16_bit_paging.flb”
Choose the STATIC_EEP file you saved as a binary file
Put 0x544FC000 as a start adress
and 0x00014000 as a length
Put Infineon USB driver as a Communication Driver

3.2
Click on Start
Click on Yes
Plug in your LG Arena Phone(Off, without battery, without sim card) on the same slot where you had it recognized (you have 10 sec before time out / can be modified on the setting menu)
The downloading of your static EEP Part should be happening.
Once the computer says the transfer is ok, disconnect your phone, put your new SIM card in, your battery, and it should work !!!

I have used to change from Orange to 3, and it works. However, I tried it with my service provider (Comcel, Colombia), and taking 5 of 6 digits, it does not work. Where could I put the sixth digit? Thanks in advance.
