If you followed our instructions to the letter before, you should have a rooted LG Pad 8.3 tablet. For now, here’s three custom roms I’ve been playing with on LG G Pad 8.3, with a rundown of what they do and how they perform.

1. CMB – 4.4.1 for LG G Pad 8.3:

  • Based on Android 4.4.2_r1, CM11.0
  • All current features CM11.0
  • Customized Dark Holo Theme With Gray ActionBars
  • Dark Mms
  • Dark Calendar
  • Dark Contacts
  • Ramdisk security tweaks, you can adb as root now!
  • Bash "tab to complete"
  • Remount helper, in adb shell
    • remount /system

  1. You must have a rooted device with one of the custom recoveries flashed (TWRP Recommended)
  2. Copy rom and gapps to your sdcard
  3. Reboot into recovery using adb, type code:
    1. adb reboot recovery
  4. Wipe data/Factory Reset
  5. Flash Rom and Gapps
  6. Reboot and Enjoy

2. AOKP – 4.4.2 for LG G Pad 8.3:

  1. Download the rom, gapps of your choosing.
  2. Reboot to CWM or TWRP whichever you choose to use. (must be the newest version)
  3. Wipe data/Factory reset
  4. Flash Rom
  5. Flash Gapps
  6. Reboot and Enjoy

3. CM11 – 4.4.2 for LG G Pad 8.3:

Disclaimer: We are not responsible for anything you do to your device, but we will do our best to assist if something goes wrong! Root will most certainly void your warranty. To get your tablet serviced best would be best to flash back to a stock ROM.
