Finally following in the footsteps of AT&T’s and Sprint’s versions of the handset, T-Mobile’s LG G3 is set to receive the update to Android 5.0.1 Lollipop starting today.
It’s been several weeks since such updates have first rolled out in the US, so it’s nice to see the magenta carrier catching up. Better late than never, as they say.
The update is a big affair, and you’ll need to have at least 50% of your battery left when attempting to apply it. After doing that, you’ll be on software version D85120b.
Since the update it’s not available as an OTA just yet. If you want your device update to Android 5.0.1 right now, you need to use LG’s Mobile Support Tool, not over-the-air. Once that’s installed, a simple plug-and-check should push the update to your phone.
