LG Shine Plus Android 2.2 Update?

Android 2.2 Froyo looks good, very good. LG Shine Plus can handle it very well! But where is it? When we will be receiving the Android 2.2 Froyo upgrade for our LG Shine Plus?  LG is not in any hurry to provide us with the upgrade because they are just not being bombarded enough with requests for the update. Let’s e-mail to Telus and LG to express our idea!  LG-Shine info

Won’t be out until July, rumor has it it might be Gingerbread though.

There is a software update for the LG Shine plus now available on the Telus Support page for this phone.

All I know is that it’s called LGC710h-V10, where mine was purchased at v9.

I haven’t been able to have any of my computers running any operating systems to acknowledge my phone in either LG pc sync to backup my phone, or the Mobile Software Update Tool.

If anyone succeeds at this please let me know. I’ve unrooted, and done everything except for factory data reset and none of LG’s software ever thinks that my phone is connected, even though it shows up in device manager under USB storage, LG DUN Modem and about 4 other entries in Device Manager.

I had to turn off the “Mass storage only” option in “Settings > SD card & phone storage” for the LGMobile update tool to see my phone.

Simon – I managed to update my LG Shine Plus with the update. It seemed to work anyways, it didn’t go to 100%, reseted and now LGC710h-V10.

Simple international roaming bug fix, nothing worthwhile. Here’s hoping July will bring us a nice surprise.

Most of the android phones available in the market already have the 2.2 upgrade while the LG Shine Plus still has its 2.1. LG Shine Plus NEEEDS the 2.2 upgrade. I do not feel that LG is giving us the service that we deserve as its customers, which is very disappointing.

It’s October already and STILL no update for the LG Shine Plus. And it’s not like Telus dropped the phone. No, they are still selling it. What the hell, Telus? Where is 2.3 already???

Since updatig my LG Shine Plus on the Telus network my screen goes black after a certain period of time and requires me to remove the battery and then replace it to be able to use the phone. I don<t recommend anyone with this phone to update it just yet.

Ok…I’m getting more and more frustrated…I went to Telus twice to ask about updating my phone and the first time they said download the LG update program and update…and it’s already up-to-date. Second time I went in they’re like try googling it to help see if anyone else has the same issues. The phone freezes often when I’m texting or incoming calls and the only way for me to stop it is to remove the battery and put it back. I used to like LG products but I am not gonna every buy another one.

Does anyone know how to fix the said problems with no firmware update?
