Virgin Mobile USA has finally acknowledged the existence of the new side-sliding Android device, a handset that we’ve seen a few days before at Best Buy. Today, the US mobile carrier officially announced that the LG Optimus Slider would be available starting October 17 for $199 with no contract, after that, it will be in RadioShack and Best Buy starting on October 31, while Target will pick it up on November 6, and on November 13 in Sprint stores (it was supposed to be headed to Sprint). The LG Optimus Slider appears to be a successor to last year’s entry-level LG Optimus V. It sports a 3.2-inch HVGA (320×480) touchscreen, a 3.2 MP camera, a landscape style QWERTY keyboard, a 3.5 mm headset jack, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, 3G, a 1,500 mAh battery, a microSD card slot and Android 2.3 Gingerbread. Its dimensions are 4.53 x 2.32 x 0.58. LG Cell Phone News
