A new software update has been released from official LG site. Its Android 2.2.2 version of froyo for LG Optimus C. Although this is not the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update, but don’t worry, it will be available soon. Some websites say June/July, but don’t hold me to that. LG Android Phones

I has Just performed the Android 2.2.2 software update on my LG Optimus C through the LG update tool (http://www.lg.com/us/support/mc-support/mobile-phone-support.jsp) today. Here’s what it is: LG Cell Phone Software

What’s the difference between Android 2.2.1 and Android 2.2.2?

Android 2.2.1 and Android 2.2.2 are two minor revisions to Android 2.2 (Froyo). There are no new features added in these revisions. The revisions only included some improvements and bug fixes. The first revision to Android 2.2 was released in May 2010. Android 2.2.1 included improvements mainly on Gmail application and Exchange Active Sync. It also received an update to Twitter and refreshed weather widget. Android 2.2.2 was released in June 2010. There were complains about an email bug that randomly select a recipient from the contact list and forward a random message in the inbox on its own. Android 2.2.2 update was released mainly to address this email bug that randomly forward the text messages in the inbox. So, the main difference between Android 2.2.1 and Android 2.2.2 is this bug fix, the features remain same as in Android 2.2. LG-Optimus info

Well, here it is August and no Gingerbread yet for Optimus T. LG sure is starting to look a lot like Motorola in terms of the way they handle Android updates. YUK!!

I just download new android software to my LG optimus because it prompted me to and now my gps doesn’t function properly, my battery never gets charged anymore and the droid already drains it as is… I have to keep it plugged up all day basically to have a phone. And now plugging it into my car charger or my computer doesn’t charge it at all!!!!

Maybe someone here can help me, I’m trying to help my bf root his Optimus C that he got from cricket and it’s still running 2.2.1. We’ve been trouble finding anything that will for sure work, cause we found the universal 1-click root but that won’t run on 2.2.1. Please help
