LG Optimus Black receives enhanced Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread Update

At long last, the enhanced Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread upgrade for the LG Optimus Black has just been released in Europe. The official version number of the software is V20N. So what makes it so enhanced? Well a few things really: LG Android Phones

  • Enhanced mobile gaming experience
  • Improved UI to enable faster access and control and a more intuitive user experience
  • One-touch word selection and copy/paste:
  • Better Download management
  • Support for new media formats such as AAC, AVC, MPEG 4 and H.263
  • New features and other improvements: active app management, shortcuts, widgets, icons, app groups, updated calendar options, camera geotagging, better email synching and more precise camera auto-focus.
  • App updates and pre-loaded Google+ app

Ok, so when does South Africa get the update. My phone says V10E and there is no new V20E? Please.

The Gingerbread update is available in Europe and India. LG didn’t indicate when it will reach in South Africa, so please wait.

ive updated my phone using the manual method but there is basically no difference?! Any chance of screen shots from an updated phone to show if I have done mine correct?

When Gingerbread update is available for Middle East (Iran)?
my phone version number of the software is v10f.

To check the current version of your phone, please go: menu -> settings -> about phone -> firmware version.

Nothing available for me in the Netherlands yet. I don’t have a PC, so I can’t update from the download. I’m hoping for an OTA update.

Any suggestions?

For safer and smooth update use LG PC Suite IV and LGMobile update, got mine GB 2.3.4 now the battery is good than froyo version
