There are no doubts LG and other mobile giants want to have their own tablet device now that Apple has broke the market with the iPad. The LG Optimus Pad, which has been launched in Japan and in the US (called as T-Mobile G-Slate), will be available in the UK some time.

According to Carphone the LG Optimus Pad is already in stock, although I doubt it will ship it right away if you order it now. Carphone offers the LG Optimus Pad (Android 3.0 Honeycomb tablet) for almost £799 (about $1,330). The price even higher than the most expensive iPad (£659).

We don’t know all the details about the LG Optimus Pad, but we’ve heard few important things:

  • Full HD and 3D video recording via two 5 MP cameras
  • HD playback on an optimised 8.9 inch display, or on your HDTV
  • Powered by Android 3.0 (Honeycomb)

And that’s about all we have at the moment. As soon as we hear something new, you’ll be the first to know. Stay tuned.
