We’ve known that the accelerometer on the LG Incite is not worth a shit!!  So I managed to turn it off by going to Sensor in the System settings. Next, I reprogrammed the Camera button (Buttons in Personal settings) to Rotate Screen. I’ve noticed a considerable improvment in the performance of the phone, and now the orientation stays where I want it.  When I do want to rotate the screen, I just tap the camera button — the screen rotates much faster than with the accelerometer.
