i have the same problem, my touch screen is all messed up, when i try using it, it’ll go to random places i didnt even touch, it sucks, and i want to throw this piece of shit into a brick wall!

I have the same issues. I just sent mine back and told them it was defected because i thought it was just my phone. I guess it’s nice to know that I am not the only one having problems, but on the flip side it sucks because I am sure the replacement will have the same issues.

I had mine replaced at 2 months for this reason; problem was intermittent. The store said this was their first return of this sort. They extended the warranty by the 2mos I’ve had the account.

my touchscreen went out for no reason and I lost all my data and pics. The store is out of glimmer phones so it sucks

YEAH IM MAD TOO! I SPENT LIKE TWO FREAKIN HOURS UNTIL CLOSING TIME AT A CORPORATE ALLTEL STORE TODAY ONLY FOR THEM TO TELL ME THEY COULD DO NOTHING TO HELP MY SITUATION!! I ENDED UP SPENDING $213 FOR AN LG RHYTHM!!! SO FREAKIN MAD! THIS LG GLIMMER STOPPED WORKING EVERY SINCE WEDNESDAY ON MY BIRTHDAY! O YEA N I HATE ALLTEL TOO!

I had the same issue but it has progressed to the point where the screen is intermittently unresponsive. The longest stretch I had my phone screen not accept any inputs was 2 days.

I have that problem… but with my LG Rytham.. My touch screen just completely stopped working.. sooo therefore, I can recieve any texts… well i can but I just can see them.. it’s lame…

ive had my lg glimmer sense june 7 of 2008 and im just now beging to have the problems in june of 2009 with the touch screen not wanting to work…..but i thnk its funny that it goes out right after my warrenty goes out…NOT!!!!!…im very dissapointed wth it and i see y they discontinued the phone…..theres no reason to have a phone on the market that doesnt serve any type of perpose when its broke!!!!!!

I have a glimmer and the master sound went out. I haven’t had touch screen problems but it will not ring or play music but it does make other noises just not the main ring……? what do they replace you phone with if you have insurance on it?

My screen has gone bad twice.I cant do anything with the phone except make and receive calls.The things just junk and should be recalled immediately!

I’ve had 5 glimmers and they all do the same thing. I have all the same problems. I finally just stopped puttin my contacts back in them b/c i knew the stupid phone was gonna mess up again. They will exchange it as long as your warrenty isn’t up but now since there is no alltel and we are all verizon now idk what to do.

look, i have a glimmer too and we all have the some problems. the touch screen dose what it want to do and you cant navigate AT ALL! What we need now is find out whats the next step. What happens if our warranty runs out. Will LG replace this phone? What is out next step with this piece of shit phone?

I went to Verizon on Sunday because my simple lg glimmer’s touch froze up on me. The guy there was a smart alek and tried to blame it on how many text messages I had but any person who has one knows that you have to delete the messages just about everyday! Well, they are sending me ANOTHER glimmer and I know that it will eventually do the same thing. I’ll just go to the store and put on a fake nervous break down… maybe I’ll come out with a Blackberry

I’ve had my glimmer for 2 years and replaced it once. if you carry the glimmer in your pocket, or let something rest against the touch screen, it shorts out. Carry it in a case and you wont have any problems with your touch screen. i’m keeping mine as a backup to my new phone. it still works and sounds good. no problems as long as i dont put it it my pocket.

mannnn. stewpid phonee is idioticc ! it works for somee time and the next it doesnt and i cant touch it at all. im so sick with alltel phoness. all 3 of my last phones have stewpid problemsss ! ughhh now im switching to verizonn ! i hope they dnt have the same problemm. all i want is a phonee that works correctly ! is that too much to ask ? goshhhh ! im glad alltel closed down. im abt to go to at&t if verizon does the same crap ! i dnt get a new phonee until moondayy wtf ! i need onee NOW !

well add another person to this list. i have had my glimmer for going on a year now. and mine is starting to act up. it hits whatever it wants when you touch the screen. and i have insurance on my account so i will probolly call it in and see if i can at least get another replacment till my contract ends. so i can get somthing else. but i have had it with this phone. i have gotten text and i mean alot and i cant read them cause its being a dick and wont touch it. i swear i have had issues with all my alltel phones. im def going to be switching to another company with this contract runs out. i mean is there a way to reset the phone or somthing? this is crazy that the touchscreen just goes out whenever it wants.

Mine did the same thing lol. I hate the thing too. I just called it in for insurance and verizon is replacing it with a LG Voyager. I haven’t even heard of that phone. suppose I should look it up

well update on my post, i guess im kinda screwed. i called my insurance, and talked to verizon. nether can replace the phone. insurance said its not there problem its a malfunction they dont cover malfunctions in the phone. verizon said they wont replace it because its been over a year since i had the phone and i out of there year warranty or some crap so they say they cant do anything insurance cant do anything. so screw verizon once my contract is up they have def. lost a customer. im going to go to boost mobile and get there unlimted black berry plan.

welll you guys that are having touch screen problems, did you ever calibrate it?? if you didnt, DONT DO IT! i’m on my 2nd glimmer now because i calibrated the screen when i first got it cuz i didnt know what the hell callibrate meant. i’ve never calibrated the screen on my 2nd one and the screen works fine. I have another problem tho, my vibrate wore off . whenever i get a text or call i can just barley feel the vibrate if i hold it in my hands. BUT it seems like if i take it off of vibrate for a few days and just let it ring, it works pretty good a few days later. i guess it has to charge the vibrate?? wth. this phone is weird but as long as you DO NOT calibrate the touch screen, you should be fine for 1 or two years untill you get your next phone.

I purchased my LG PRIME 2 months ago and I’m having the same problem with the touch screen calibration being totally off! I can not send text messages, use any of the touch functionalities because each key is not set to the proper key. And forget about trying to re-calibrate… it will NOT re-calibrate to the correct points. I am VERY disappointed in this product.

hahaha fml. i have an lg prime, its an at&t phone but the exact same crap happened to mine to. it worked while i was walking out to the car then i got a text and tried to touch it to view and the touch screen wouldnt work. so far its been a day and still nothing new, all the side buttons call and end buttons work but the touch screen is entired effed. i honestly think its lg phones in general, cause ive been researching online and everytime i pull up something about an lg p[hone touch screen there are a million comments about it shorting out or malfuntioning. so pissed got this thing around june.

lately LG phones have come accross some trouble shooting problems, rather like touch screen which is the vulnerable area of the gigantic organisation, due to which its loosing its reputation, market share aswell.

Yeah. I had one glimmer for about a year and the same thing happened to me. I got a replacement for the phone about a year ago or maybe a little longer and now the touch screen is all screwed up again. NEVER buy an LG touch screen phone

Bought LGenv3 touch last July. Had to be replaced with a week. Now, 10 months later, touch screen goes bust. Fool me once…
