For anyone who uses BitPim for more than adding ringtones or wallpapers, I’d highly advise making backups of your folders. Should files be deleted, whether by accident or intentionally, the backup files will always be readily available.
From the Main Menu:

• Make sure your LG Dare is connected. Search this site should you be having connection problems
• Open up the Filesystem. It is located on the bottom left menu bar
• Open up the folder til you see all of the available folders
• To backup a folder, right click the folder, and select “Backup Entire Tree”

This might take a few minutes

• It will ask you to save the file. Locate the correct folder and save the contents. The file will be stored as a zip folder
• To open the folder, you will need either Winzip or WinRar unzipping utility. Google to find it
• To restore the files, you can drag and drop them, or right click the old file and select overwrite. Then locate the file you’re looking for.

Recommended backups
If you choose not to back up your entire phones EFS, back up these folders:
/BREW – for apps, ringtones, music, wallpapers, etc
/eri – phone settings
/flash – contains tools and animated wallpapers, including EZtiptype (if installing flash games over them)
/NVM – ESN and MEID for phone settings
