start => run and type “cmd” to get the Dos screnn up first.

ok, we do all this stuff.then what? how we put them in the phone?i think this is a useless guide, waste of time with f@cking frence programs….too bad

After sucessfully completing all steps upto number 9 i dont seem to have two extra files in c:\ks360 at the end of step 8 why not ?? am i missing something ? thank you

I seems to having problem with extarcting the files from firmware. I have used both programm extract.exe and LG-Utils using EN version. Every time I enter bothe file details such as C:\kp\inf_webdnld.dll then C:\kp\v10d.wdb then version V10d_00 and then preass enter, it starts to load but comes-up as Merged File Open Fail!! Where is your image file to download into phone? I have done exactly the the tutorial says. Can you tell me why it is failing to extract the files from dll and wdb files?

If you dont put in paths to the files the extract prog dumps the files into the root C:\ Have a looke there and sort by date/time and you should see the extracted files
For the merge file open fail check that you are entering V10D_00 not V10G_00

V10d_00 is NOT the same as V10D_00

and also need to exchange the driver name ..

U10D_00 – exchange name for KP

my KP folder in E: drive ..

so i try E:\KP\……..

i’m having the same problem. when i go to extract, after entering in V10D_08 and hitting Enter twice, it closes automatically when it should say loading.

no new files are made/extracted. so the extract program is like not working or something. idk.

how do you do number 3, cause i’m confused.

After sitting for hours wondering what I was doing wrong, I created a sub folder in the folder containing the extracted files and named it ‘dll’. As you can see from the screen shot in step 2, the extract program looks for this folder to save the files to, that’s why we were not getting the ‘loading’ message. I hope this helps someone!

I can confirm that everything works perfectly if you use the ‘Drag and drop’ techniques and before you run ‘Extract’ make sure you are running command prompt first (Vista users might need to run it with admin privaliges) then drag and drop the files you need and when it asks you for the version it will be the same version in the CAB file name

This guide kinda sucks. What it doesn’t tell you is where to extract the CAB file to. You should create a folder called “KP” on the C drive and You should now replace “D” with “C” when typing the path to extract. eg. type “C:\KP\Inf_WebDnld.dll” etc. Follow the steps just where you see D use C instead. I most cases your hard drive would be C so just extract there.

Whoever get this message:
“Error during the port opening: Can not delete the non-existing channel 1.”

This mean you are trying to read the phone with WRONG USB port or you didnt type \\.\USB1 after ‘N’ or ‘O’

Whoever get this message:
“For NAND systems an EBL must be injected”

This mean the computer recognized the phone is turned ON or turning ON, to fix this problem, when you are plug in the phone, make sure the phone WITHOUT battery. (If still get the same error, just try again, it has nothing to do with DRIVER)

Whoever get this message:
“File STATIC_EEP not find” is because you are trying to use “KP500-Utils-EN” (ENGLISH VERSION) to extract the STATIC_EEP.

FOR KP500-Utils-ENGLISH
TO EXTRACT select ‘O’ not ‘N’
TO UNLOCK select ‘P’ not ‘O’

FOR KP500-Utils-FRENCH
TO EXTRACT select ‘N’
TO UNLOCK select ‘O’

for all the above arrors, try to change the combatibility of the extraction program, by rght clicking on it, and selecting properties, and the compatibility tab. Try various OS’s, not just the one you have.
For the NAND error, and the non existing channel 1 eror too.

For those who want their original lg cookie theme back (the one the phone had when you bought it) go to http://www.lg.com/uk/support/product/support-product.jsp and update your phone’s software.

Don`t put the extracted files in C
Put them in E or other drive.
And then you won`t get the Downloand image Error
