The problem is that your phone is detected as turned on. So make sure that it’s detected as a Flash Loader Utility, by installing these drivers: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JAVJVVSF

OK – It works! )

So realising something was no quite right, and having installed the USB drivers lg-phones linked-to, I decided to remove to ALL USb drivers from my Win Xp PC and reboot and reinstall everything again.

This time the KS360-Utils-EN.exe program found the handset and extracted the required files ‘STATIC_EEP’ and ‘STATIC_EEP.big’. I copied STATIC_EEP o the root c:\\ drive and following instructions at ‘Step 5: the unlock code’ I managed to get my unlock code which I the entered into phone and it unlocked. The only slight difference is that the instructions say to Press “Unlock SIM” and then “Network Lock” whereas with my Virgin UK handset I needed to select “Unlock uSIM” and then “Service Provider Lock”.

Many thanks to all concerned and here’s hoping this helps others successfully unlock their Cookies.

but after this ive tried everything, I tried installing the drivers that lg-phones provided, still didn’t work, so I tried doing what jackie did, removed/unistalled all traces of my lg mobile off the computer and reinstalled, but when I enter the STATIC_EEP and then connect my turned off phone it comes up with the same error and it also sometimes windows shows in the bottom right corner:

ok, i did it on xp and it worked!!!

so i have my 8-digit code, then i enter the 2945#*71001# … the menu comes up, i go on the sim, then network lock, and then it doesnt let me on and just says “not available!” .. so then i try agen and enter 2945#*71001# and then i just click key, i enter the digits, and press ok and absolutely nothing happens?? can anyone help? it would be so apprieciated thankyou

On my Cookie I hag to select “Unlock uSIM” and then **“Service Provider Lock”** for it to work – note this is different to the original guide above.

hello all! i have tried to unlock my KP501(orange RO) whith this method. i have folowed step by step this tut, but when it comes to get the STATIC_EEP, i have this error : “error during the data receiving : timeout occured during the packet reception” ! anyone know what shall be the problem? it drives me crazy! i’ve tried a lot of times, but always no luck! hope somebody can help me! thanks in advance!

i have managed to unlock it! the error was because of an .dll, wich in this tut told me to replace! i have puted back th original “IFWD_DownloadDll.dll” that came with the program and worked like a charm! thanks a million to the one that wrote this tut!

hello guys. i did all the instructions and i got unlock code. unfortunately when i turn on the telephone after the steps that i have followed and click unlock sim, all of the menus in the unlock menu gives me ‘not avaible’ error. the menus that i clicked network lock,networksubset lock,service provide lock,corporate lock and SIM/USIM lock. when i click any of them,i get ‘not available’ error.did i do something wrong during the instructions ? i will so glad if you can help me.cheers

Finally got it to work, and it works with my US At&T service…. Thanks guys been trying for a month to get this unlocked. Works with the KP501 but you have to have Windows XP, won’t see the phone as Flash Utility Device.

I eventually managed to get it to work, but I had to use the V10D file from this list:http://www.lg-phones.org/category/lg-cookie-info/page/7 and selected the ‘Great Britain’ version. I wasn’t able to extract the files from the other one. Also, when it asks for the unlock code, I had to click on ‘Service provider lock’, not ‘Network lock’. I’m not very adept at this sort of thing but I’m chuffed that I managed to work round the problems and finally unlock my Cookie. Thank you and art903 very much. This is the only solution I found on the net and no shop was able to help me.

I am still unable to unlock it. I followed step one and two but do not know which Firmware system file i need to extract where do i get it from? i tried this http://www.lg-phones.org/lg-cookie-tricks-extract-custom-files-from-the-firmware.html and i gave me .wdb file but not any .flb file. Can somebody help me if i have downloaded the right software then what about .flb file? after i extracted .cab folder i found only .wbd file there not any .flb

Hello, i just did everything listed, but when i put the 245#71001# anything appears, do you have another code to get into the unlock sim menu??, my cookie is a KP570Q, it says on main sw version: kp570qHL-01-V10a-334-20-OCT-27-2008
(puting 1809#*570# because 500 instead of 570 dindnt work for me)

I still cant unlock my Cookie I got through all the stages all right but when I try to enter the unlock code it just says ‘not available’ when I click on any button in the unlocking menu. The phone is on Virgin UK and the firmware is V10D. Any help would be much appreciated.

hello its me again, ive tryed this a lot of times and still giving me 00000000 for unlcoking code, ive download a firmware now its “KP500AT-00-V10n-334-020-DEC-17-2008″ and now i can acces the 2945#*71001# menu, but when i click en any of those options it says service unavailable, but i can press the key button andit ask me for a code, but i dont know it because ive extracted de static_eep and when i press o “unlock” it just tell me that my code is 00000000 can anyone help me please???

Hi guys, I finally got the STATIC_EEP file, copied it to the C:\ but when I try to get a code (with the phone still plugged in and turned off) it gives the following error: error during opening/reading/writing of file: ios_base::failbit set.

ok, got the code and put it in the service provider lock, code was accepted but now it says no sim placed, but my sim is in.. non of the options lets me in anymore.. help please, this is really weird and i can’t use my phone..

I have my code but the phone wont let me enter the Hash or Star keys. Its saying Emergency calls only, and usim is displayed. No access to menus. Any ideas?

For people who are getting the errors during the “plug your phone” part, do this>

delete all the lg modem drivers and lg related crap, without the battery, plug your phone to the usb cable and do all the process, there’s no need of plugin the phone only in the period specified.

Guys, I have tried to unlock a LG cookie and for those who have the ‘STATIC_EEP’ not found try the letter O instead of N and when unlocking try P instead of O.
I had the French LG utils version.

Thanks heaps, worked for a crazy johns KP500 prepaid kit in Australia. One thing I had to do was make sure the menu of the programs letters did the right things as the latest LG utils has a extra command letter.

I rang up and got the unlocking code and everything but when I turn the phone on, it doesn’t give me the option to unlock the phone, it just says USIM locked and emergency calls only!!!!??? Any advice?

Where do I find the custom files from the firmware in Step 3

I changed my kp501 to kp500 with that firmware,decoded it, all good. BUT now i cant use my lg pc suiteII
Says : “Fail to connect the mobile handset, Please check the COM port and connect in idle screen.Due to the multifunction,despite idle screen,it can be failed to connect” but before i decoded was working.(tried and pc suite for kp500/501) pls help

Took me 8 hours but all unlocked and working like a charm all at the cost of exactly nil!!

When you get an error saying something like ‘NAND systems an EBL must be injected’ This means you need to wait about 3 seconds before plugging your phone in to the computer because you are currently doing it too fast.

However, if you have your code and you get a message like “Not Available” when you enter your code try to:
1. Dial 2945#*71002# , enter USIM Lock menu and enter generated code.
2. From the list Choose your current operator(for me that was Orange).
3. Dial 2945#*71001# , enter USIM Lock menu and then enter Network lock then enter generated code.
4. Phone should restart and should be done!
