LG has just introduced a new mid-range Android-powered smartphone in South Korea – the LG Aka, which comes with four unique cases that transform it into different characters: Eggy (yellow case), Wookie (white case), Soul (blue case) and YoYo (pink case).

Pronounced "aw-kuh", the handset is obviously targeted at young mobile users, and it has eyes, which peek out from its case, and tries to establish an emotional connection with you.

The phone looks good, although its design has nothing that we haven’t seen before. Here are the handset’s  main specs:

  • 5-inch IPS display with 720 x 1280 pixels
  • 1.2GHz quad-core processor
  • 8MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera
  • 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB of storage
  • MicroSD card support
  • Android 4.4 KitKat
  • 4G LTE connectivity and NFC
  • 2,610mAh battery

The LG Aka should be available in South Korea starting today, via all major carriers (SK Telecom, KTF and LG Telecom). No details about its release in other markets.
