Last month, we are informed that Android 4.1 Jelly Bean updates for the LG Optimus 4X HD, L7 and L9 smartphones are on the way – 4 days ago, the JB update was released for the Optimus L9, and now it’s LG Optimus 4X HD and L7’s turn to get the update.

According to LG’s official German blog, the company is planning to roll out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean software update for the Optimus 4X HD, L7 by the end of the month. The update will bring the UI optimizations of Project Butter and will make Google Now available. Newly added features include faster NFC transmission through Android Beam 2.0, Wi-Fi protected setup (WPS), as well as expandable notifications.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update can be found by plugging your device into your computer and then using the LG Mobile Phone Support tool that will be available for Windows PC’s. If you’re on a Mac, you’ll have to find a Windows machine.
