  1. Open your LG Optimus M
  2. Go to Android Market
  3. Download and install z4root by RyanZA (not the Chinese one)
  4. Run it and root your LG Optimus M. LG-Optimus info

  1. the z4root app was taken down the Android market a couple weeks ago. go to http://www.4shared.com and search for “z4root.apk” on there and you’ll be able to download it.

  2. i followed all directions, but when i try to root, it restarts my phone as its saying attempting to apply root…… everytime.

  3. z4root will not work if you have upgraded to Android v. 2.2.1. There are tutorials around the web that tell you how to “downgrade” back to v. 2.2, but be careful. I turned mine into a brick. I’m looking for a way to restore it now.

  4. the z4root app closes or somethething before finishing, and then i cant open it again, what am i doing wrong?
