How to Install Ubuntu 12.10 Touch on the LG’s Google Nexus 4

In case you are not familiar to the Ubuntu Touch:

Ubuntu Touch is a Linux-based mobile operating system, is now available for download. For now this OS can be installed on the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

Here we made this thread in order to show you how to install the Ubuntu 12.10 Touch on an LG Google Nexus 4.

Warning: This process will delete all data from the device. Restoring Android will not restore this data.


  1. Make sure you have installed the TWRP or CWM on your LG Google Nexus 4
  2. Download the following 2 files:
  3. Do Naroidbackup on Nexus
  4. Factory Reset!
  5. Reboot your phone into TWRP or CWM
  6. Flash the 2 files
  7. Reboot and enjoy


Easy as flashing a rom. Just shut the phone down ( you will have to do a battery pull)
& go into recovery & flash as usual, works perfectly.

For LG Google Nexus 4 Users: If you have some issues after install the Ubuntu, try to disassemble the back of the phone and unplug/plug the battery connector.
