I have installed the latest CyangenMod 7 on my LG Optimus 2X device last night. Everything ran smooth (faster than stock indeed) and I really liked it. LG Android Phones

Following is the full guide on how to install the CyangenMod 7 on the LG Optimus 2X. Before flashing, you must install the Recovery on you phone. If the LG Optimus 2X already has a custom Recovery Image installed, you may skip this section.

So, all can look into the below steps so that they do not get into any trouble.

  1. Search for ROM Manager in the Market (free or paid) and install the app.
  2. Open the ROM Manager application and select Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.
  3. Click on LG Optimus 2X and then give the app root permission if it prompts you.
  4. If it hangs after that and freezes up, just allow the app to Force Close. Then open it back up and repeat steps 2 & 3.
  5. Once the flash was successful, you should see a dialog box that says "Successfully flashed ClockworkMod recovery!".
  6. Press OK.  LG Phone Problem and Solution
  7. The ClockworkMod Recovery should now be installed on the LG Optimus 2X.

hello, after the last step of How to flash LG Optimus 2X to CyangenMod 7 via ROM manager, is it normal for the phone to seem to get stuck on the LG logo for a while? I’m guessing it’s about 10mins already and I dont see a progress indicator of any sort… (I don’t know if it’s working)

I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE! I’ve been trying to flash ClockWorkMod with rom manager literally all day, (phone is rooted) but every time while it’s flashing it stops and says “error running privileged commands” and about 2 minutes later my phone will crash and reboot (lg optimus 2x, p999). Once it turns on it gets stuck in a boot loop, and I have to restore my phone completely. I’ve also tried flashing cwm from my computer running the batch file, but the same thing happens. I’VE RESTORED MY PHONE ABOUT 30 TIMES. Also, apparently to get into the recovery menu I have to hold down power and the down volume button, and when I do, sure enough the symbol of android out of the box shows. Here’s the confusing part: if I don’t touch any buttons then no options show up and my phone will just factory wipe and boot normally. Once I touch the home button, the normal options of reboot, wipe cache, factory reset, and wipe partition (sorry don’t remember exactly, but it’s the normal 4 options when you boot into recovery) show up, but I can only navigate in it after the phone wipes itself clean, and then I use the volume buttons to go up and down, but no keys and key combos that I press can “select” any option, so I have to pull out the battery and then boot it up normally.
So two main points:
1. Unable to flash cwm, and then phone crashes
2. Once phone crashes, it gets stuck in boot loop, so I have to restore every time.
3. Unable to use stock recovery menu
I know flash CWM and then a custom rom should be painless and easy but I’ve been failing for hours and hours can someone please help?
