How to change display language on LG Optimus 7

We get many questions from LG Optimus 7 users wanting to know how to change the display language on their devices. In most cases the devices were purchased from third party sources and the devices arrived with a language that they can’t use, or don’t wish to use.

Following is the full instructions on how to change the display language:

  1. Your LG Optimus 7 must be in Nodo.
  2. Dial ##634# to start MFG, then use password 277634#*# to enter the app
  3. Go to Engineer Menu -> Other Setting -> Edit Registry
  4. Select ROOT_PATH: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  5. Input SUB_PATH: \MUI\Available
  6. Input KEY: 040B (this code is for Finnish language, Swedish seems to be 041D, Polish seems to be 0415)
  7. Select data type: STRING
  8. Input data: Suomi (this is Finnish in Finnish..)
  9. Press Set
  10. Now you can update your phone to Mango if you preferred the OS.

  1. Hi.
I have an LG optimus 7 with the latest 7.8 update. The version is UK and it has very few display languages. Could you tell
if it is possible to change the language to Portuguese (Portugal, not Brazil) with this method?
    Thanks
