CM7 is a custom ROM by asop based on Android 2.3.3 (Gingerbread) and now finally be available for our LG Optimus M. CM7 is built straight from the Android Source, and is as close to it as possible. Only changes to make all phone functions work are made. Simply place this on your sdcard, WIPE!, and flash. On first boot be sure to skip past the setup and go to settings > cmod settings > display, and disable the screen on and off animations. I hope you all enjoy. Report bugs in this thread. LG Android Phones

All hardware of the LG Optimus M! (I’m not sure about bluetooth because i don’t have any bluetooth devices to test it) LG Cell Phone Software

Doesn’t work: LG-Optimus info
USB Mass Storage mode (can access through recovery if needed)

Banner still says Virgin Mobile

Thank you to asadullah, joneidy, and andyo70 for all the work they do for the community and for making this possible. And of course thanks go out to the cm7 guys!

Zip Updated!

CM7 Gingerbread ported for LG Optimus M v0.1

A2SD support has been added. You will need an ext3 partition on your sdcard. BACKUP YOUR STUFF BEFORE YOU CREATE IT! Can be created using joneidy’s custom recovery. After you do this and flash the rom your apps will be installed to /sd-ext/ It will not show your internal memory as being larger but I can assure you you will use about 90% less of your internal memory. Have fun!

Banner Fixed
USB Mass Storage mod Fixed
GPS is improved but still needs work(after you flash the rom, update maps and then go to manage apps and clear data and cache for maps)

After first boot reboot into recovery and flash this to get mms working.

flashing this? worst idea ever… at first i thought it was cool but then i realized that i couldn’t get my screen back after it went off for phone calls or lock, and i had no data connectivity, i flashed back to the last rom i was using. cm7 screwed up my data connectivity. after flashing back to my old rom i still don’t have it. unless you like to reboot your phone frequently taking out the battery, and if you enjoy not having the internet except for wifi, don’t get this. hopefully it will be better in the future, because it looks great and acts great except for these major bugs.

I flashed my metro lg optimus m with the cm7 gingerbread mod almost a year ago, ive had no issues with it at all. Data, Picture and bluetooth work fine. I use my bluetooth remote to control my pc everyday. My phone has never run better and more efficient. I go 2 or 3 days before recharging. I have no complaints with it what so ever. My cell based internet works like a charm.
