LG Voyager Firmware V12 Update

I just upgraded my LG Voyager to the latest firmware V12 myself at home, so it definitely exists. I was upgrading from V11, and so far I’ve noticed the touch screen seemed a little bit better (at least when pressing the unlock button), and I think preliminarily the battery life seems to be better, though I haven’t had a chance to fully test that. How to update LG Voyager to latest firmware – V12

Make sure to back up all sounds, wallpaper, contacts, etc that you have on the phone. LG-Voyager info
Download and install LGNPST
Download the latest firmware
Extract the zip file
Copy the folder and contents of "LGVX10000S" to C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\model (or wherever you installed LGNPST)
Start > Run
Type regsvr32 "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\model\LGVX10000S\VX10KS.dll"
(if you’re running vista and you get an error, navigate to C:\Windows\System32 – find cmd.exe – right click "run as administrator" – copy in the above and hit enter)

Well after a lot of searching I finally found a way to extract all of the pictures and sounds from the firmware. I am going to upload them so that you guys can have a look see. And if anyone with any knowledge wants to help me here…That would be great.

I just looked at the dare firmware and it looks like it is far more customizable. It seems like everything is in there, including the lock and unlock symbols. LG-Voyager info

Holy S*** I Just Uploaded A Firmware With Custom Images
IF you look at the images I uploaded you may notice that 00100[190x44x8BPP].png has a scribble over the minus zoom. I uploaded that and it worked.

I used the program MultiExtractor It is not freeware…so you will have to acquire however you see fit. It will create a right click option to extract the parts of a file. Then you just save one of the images, edit it, and replace it then upload the firmware like normal. And yes. there is a lot of useless stuff in the firmware

I have got my Verizon LG Voyager Titanium for a few month, and so far still cannot find any dif themes for this phone? So We are limited to 2 colors: Black and White? menu > settings & tools > display settings > 5. display themes. Is the every file on the phone in the bitpim file system? I’m looking but still haven’t found anything… found a few new tricks that I wasn’t aware of but nothing yet. LG Cell Phone Software

After spending many hours banging my head on making my java apps run with sound and networking I finally figured it all out. LG Phone Problem and Solution

Verizon LG Voyager tips – Policy / Java Permission Fix!

Step 1. Make a note of all your applications you will need to re download them in a few steps. LG-Voyager info
Step 2. Delete your java applications
Step 3. Using BitPim (if you don’t know how to use this search the forums) save a copy of the _policy.txt from the brew/asm folder file to your desktop
Step 4. Edit the txt file, at the bottom change the complete domain section to this:
domain: untrusted
allow: Application_Self_Start
allow: Device_Connectivity_Bluetooth
allow: Device_Connectivity_Comm
blanket(oneshot): Location
allow: Message_Delivery
allow: Message_Reception
allow: Multimedia_Access
allow: Net_Access
allow: Personal_Data_Read_Access
allow: Personal_Data_Write_Access
allow: Satsa
allow: Sprint_Extensions
allow: MIDP_General
allow: MIDP_Management
Step 5. save the file and overwrite this back to the phone
Step 6. use BITPim to reboot the phone
Step 7. re-download your java applications
Step 8. Congrats your applications are now working as if they are signed!

I take no responsibility for any of the above actions. This worked for me and confirmed.
I do see some issues with some applications and sound where there is a slight pause. This is caused by the programming code and the cell phone processor which is not powerful enough to keep the frame rates up.

LG Phone tips – Changing the resolution of the java games

Extract the jar file by using the Winzip
Open the ‘META-INF’ folder
You will see a file called ‘MANIFEST.MF’, open it in notepad
Now you must know 2 things to edit the file. First, you must know the original resolution of the game. Ususally this information can be found on the author’s website. Second, you must know the resolution of your screen. Then type the following two lines at the end of the text in the MANIFEST.MF file:
Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: www,xxx
Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: yyy,zzz
In the example above ‘www,xxx’ represents the original resolution of the game. ‘yyy,zzz’ represents the resolution of your phone’s display.
In the picture example below, the original game resolution is 176×208 and the target resolution of my screen (N80) is 352×416.5.
Now save the changes in the MANIFEST.MF file and drag it back into the META-INF folder in your jar file to overwrite the old one.
That’s it! Now install the jar to your phone and enjoy your full screen game…

I guess many people do not use or even know the LG Voyager function key. It’s really easy to access things straight from the touch screen. here’s how it works. Press the "Fn" key, which brings up the Fn MENU. LG-Voyager info

Connecting LG Voyager to BitPim on Mac

Is there some way to connect the LG Voyager to the mac? Okey, you may try the BitPim. Bitpim is a tricky bastard with mac sometimes. Hopefully, this answers some questions. LG-Voyager info

First you have to edit your serial port connection. Go to your bluetooth preferences and do this… LG Phone Problem and solution

This is not always an option. If you run into a problem, unpair your LG Voyager from the computer, unpair the computer from your LG Voyager, and then take the battery out of your LG Voyager for roughly 3 minutes. Turn it back on, repair them, and try again. If you still didn’t get it, keep doing that over and over until it works, theres no real science behind it.

Next, select BT DIAG.

Now make sure your protocol is RS-232, it should default to this, but still check it. For a side note, you select “modem” when you’re connecting it after the “dun” hack.

After you’ve done this, Copy the path…

Very nice, now open bitpim… it wont recognize your LG Voyager at first, but screw that it doesn’t matter. Go to your preferences “File” –> “preferences “.
Paste the path that you copied under the comport, and obviously, select the LG Voyager as the phone type, and click ok.

Now you’re pretty much done. You can go to “get phone data” to sync your phone with various things on your computer, or you can go to the “file system” tab and click the arrow under the ” /” folder to load the file system.

I hope that helped a little.

p.s. you can’t connect it with the usb cable, there are no drivers out yet for that, sorry.
