LG Revolution owners over on Verizon will be happy to know they can finally upgrade their devices from V910ZV7 to V910ZV8. The update is available now, it brings with a host of improvements, all listed below. Enhancements of the LG Revolution V910ZV8 Update:

• Improved battery life
• Fixed LTE power cycling issue
• Fixed Back soft key from exiting Browser
• Google security updates
• HDMI playback improvements
• SmartShare 2.0
• CMAS implementation
• Various bug fixes and pre-loaded app updates

Make sure your battery is fully charged or plugged into a charger. Here is what will happen..

1. You will receive a notification window that lets you know that an update is available and is about to be sent to your LG Revolution. The Window is a Blueish-purple screen, so you can’t miss it!
2. A timer will give you about 5 minutes do decide whether you want the update right now or wait for a better time.
3. If you choose to accept the update right now, the Update will download in the "Background" to your phone, so you should be able to finish up whatever you are doing with the phone while it’s downloading.
4. MAKE SURE the phone’s battery is fully charged or it is plugged into to a charger.
5. When the update is downloaded, the phone will beep and, again, you will see a notification screen asking if you want to proceed.
6. NOTE – you will not be able to do anything with the phone during the update! The update will take about 7 minutes, so plan on not being able to make calls or receive calls, or any messaging.
7. You will be notified when the update is complete.
8. During the update the phone might reboot, this is normal.

Thanks to jackpot08 I’m now able to upgrade my LG Revolution from 2.2 froyo into 2.3 gingerbread. I thought it might be useful to someone who are ready to update their phone just like me. LG Android Phones

Steps to update LG Revolution to Android 2.3 Gingerbread:

1. Plug your LG Revolution to your PC via USB cable.
2. Get the LGNPST Package with the GenericModels and Components Plug-In. http://www.multiupload.com/UT7I7O2MNZ
3. Get the driver for the phone and install it. http://www.multiupload.com/QELZ4SJ5U4
4. Get the Android 2.3 Stock Rom tot file and extract it. http://www.lg-phones.org/lg-revolution-gingerbread-v7-firmware-download.html
5. Get the DLL file specifically for the Revolution. http://www.multiupload.com/0AJEFUHVID
6. Extract the "LGNPST Store & Lab"
7. Install the following order:
   • a. LGNPSTv1.2_Store_Version.msi
   • b. LGNPST_v1.2_Lab_Version.msi
   • c. Components >> LGNPST_Components_Ver_5_0_12_0.msi
   • d. GenericModels >> LGNPST_GenericModels_Ver_5_0_10_0.msi
8. Run "Right_Click_Register_DLL.reg"
9. Make a new folder called "Models" in the program’s directory. Default: "C:\LG Electronics\LGNPST\"
10. Grab the "VS910.dll" and put it in the "Models" folder.
11. Right Click "VS910.dll" and click on Install/Register.
12. Note: DLL WILL NOT INSTALL UNLESS COMPONENTS AND GENERICMODELS PLUG-INS ARE INSTALLED!!!
13. IF YOU CANNOT INSTALL IT ON A RIGHT CLICK GO TO "C:\Windows\System32" and drag the VS910.dll on "regsvr32" and it should install.
    • a. Make sure you install it properly
    • b. REBOOT!!
14. Run "LGNPST"
15. Plug in your LG Revolution, use Internet Connection Mode,and enable USB Debugging.
16. Phone should pop up in the list.
17. Select the phone and click on the Open folder button inside the .BIN query underneath the COM## details.
18. Since it wants a .bin file, you can open the .TOT file by typing "*.*" inside the File Name query and hitting Enter
19. Select "VS910ZV4_04.S4_04.P58008.R5.user.tot" and Click OK.
20. Then click on Upgrade.
21. Wait a few minutes.
22. Now you have the Gingerbread on your phone.

Just a couple of days ago, Verizon has started rolling out the Android 2.3 Gingerbread V7 update for the LG Revolution. It’s an OTA update, to check the update: Home –> Menu –> Settings –> About Phone –> System Updates –> Check New –> If a new Software Update available –> tap Ok button.  LG Android Phones
