I made these ringtones below by myself and thought I might as well share them. These ringtones were made in the highest quality they can be so they don’t sound crappy on my LG Renoir. All of these ringtones are between 20-35 seconds in length. I packaged them into a zip file so you can download them easily from rapidshare.com. LG-Renoir info

LG Renoir Program – We-Travel GPS

The We-travel GPS software has been tested on my LG Renoir and it works fine!!! Hope you like it! LG Cell Phone Software

We-Travel GPS software step by step guide for installation on your LG Renoir:

1) Download the latest program file, a map and a voice file from here.

2) Plug your phone into your computer and select "mass storage" mode on the phone.

3) Open the "rcxx.zip" (where xx is the version number) file and copy the .jad and .jar files across to the "others" folder on your phone. **Note: do not transfer it into "Games&Applications" it won’t work**

4) In the "others" folder on your memory card make a folder called "We Travel". In this folder make two new folders, one named "Map" and the other named "Voice". **Note: They have to be written exactly like that or you will have problems**

5) Unzip the contents of the map file that you downloaded into the "Map" folder

6) Unzip the contents of the voice file that you downloaded into the "Voice" folder

7) Disconnect your phone LG-Renoir info

8 ) On your phone navigate to "Settings" -> "Phone Settings" -> "Memory Manager" -> "Primary Storage Settings" and select "Handset Memory" **Note: You may want to change your default memory back to external after installation of We Travel**

9) On your phone go to "my stuff" and navigate to the "others" folder on your memory card. Select the .jar file and install.

10) Once installation has finished select the .jad file and install.

11) Navigate to "My Games and Apps" on your phone and press the menu icon in the top left of the screen. Choose "set permissions" from this menu. Press the tick next to "We Travel midlet suite" and set allow on everything.

12) Open We Travel

13) When We Travel loads press "OK" to bring up the menu. Choose "Settings" -> "Advanced" -> "Files". Navigate to the "We Travel" folder that you made in the "others" folder on your memory card

14) Select the folder but do not open it and choose "options" and select "Set We-Travel root"

15) Open the we travel menu again and navigate to "Settings" -> "GPS" now choose "No GPS (set location)" and choose a location near to where you live. This will be the default location that We Travel will show when you start the application

16) Open the GPS menu again and select "internal GPS"

17) Wait in an area where your phone can connect to the GPS and when it connects We Travel will show your location on the screen. **Note: The blue dot in the right hand corner turns green when you are connected to GPS**

LG Renoir Apps – EFS Explorer

1. Start LGMDP then click on tools: LG-Renoir info

2. Then click on read from phone:

3. Then check the port:

4. Click on connect:

And finally click on Exit.

5. Now run EFS Media Builder by Hoshihiro, Click on EFS File Explorer

6. Click Connect

Now you should be in your Renoir files.

To install the LG Renour software – keylock
-copy the keylock.swf and the keyback.jpg paste into /LGAPP/media/swf/ (you will have to use EFS Explorer for this)
-If you want to have another wallpaper as the background for the keylock, then rename that wallpaper keyback.jpg and transfer it to LGAPP/media/swf. LG-Renoir info

The GPS in the LG Renoir is a receiver device, and then LG had the mobile google maps application (software) installed, there’s no GPS option as such, apart from choosing standard or Assisted GPS (Leave Assisted selected). LG Cell phone Software

The google maps software can show you where you are on satellite imagery, and you can see yourself (a dot of your location) moving across the map as you move, it can also provide text instructions to get to a destination after you run a search on it, very basic GPS sofware, but better than nothing, requires a connection also.

LG Phone tips – Changing the resolution of the java games

Extract the jar file by using the Winzip
Open the ‘META-INF’ folder
You will see a file called ‘MANIFEST.MF’, open it in notepad
Now you must know 2 things to edit the file. First, you must know the original resolution of the game. Ususally this information can be found on the author’s website. Second, you must know the resolution of your screen. Then type the following two lines at the end of the text in the MANIFEST.MF file:
Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: www,xxx
Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: yyy,zzz
In the example above ‘www,xxx’ represents the original resolution of the game. ‘yyy,zzz’ represents the resolution of your phone’s display.
In the picture example below, the original game resolution is 176×208 and the target resolution of my screen (N80) is 352×416.5.
Now save the changes in the MANIFEST.MF file and drag it back into the META-INF folder in your jar file to overwrite the old one.
That’s it! Now install the jar to your phone and enjoy your full screen game…

I have had my LG Renoir now for over seven months, and I love it so much! From Voyager to Vu to Dare and I have to say the Renoir is really not bad! The LG Renoir’s interface is simple and easy to use, but very powerful indeed. The 8.0-MP camera is great and clear. However, I also have a few issues with my phone, the touch screen is unresponsive, slow & frustrating, the ringtone almost is not listened to, that is solutionable altering ringtone in the computer and the battery is not good. Some LG Renoir owners asked me how to modify their ringtone sound, and now I got the instruction on the LG Renoir forum. Follow the tutorial below to modify the LG Renoir’s ringtone sound. LG Phone Problem and solution

1. Go to the service software menu 3845#*910# (as if you are going to dial for a call)
2. Go to (2) Test Device
3. Then (8) Sound
4. Then (7) Audio CAL Tool
5. Then (1) Sound Calibration
6. And (3) CHANGE SOUND DB
7. Change in snd_device_type “SPK_PHONE”
8. Change in snd_method_type_type “MIDI”
9. Change in Item_Title “rx X _db (December) to rx7_db(dec)
10. Input "800" in Data Set
11. Click on the arrow to go back 1 time (top right) or the “Multi” (middle button)
12. Finally, click on “Write on Sound DB to EFS (top line)
13.Now repeat the process but for
rx6_db(dec) data set 700
rx5_db(dec) data set 600
rx4_db(dec) data set 500
rx3_db(dec) data set 400
rx2_db(dec) data set 300
rx1_db(dec) data set 200
leave rx0_db(dec) as it is
