LG VX9800 Software – Version 2 Update

You could get the LG VX9800 software update from the Verizon. It’s version 2. It is supposed to fix many issues. Some of the issues they are suppost to fix are…
1. LG VX9800 would sometimes powercycle when trying to access the camera or picture gallery with a mini sd card in the phone
2. LG VX9800 would sometimes powercycle upon insertion of the mini sd while using the camera
3. LG VX9800 would sometimes powercycle when playing or accessing mp3’s with any mini sd card 512mb or larger
4. LG VX9800 would sometimes have a complete power failure straight out of the box
5. LG VX9800 would sometimes powercycle when accessing mp3’s with a 1gb mini sd and then would have no audio once it powercycled
6. added MOD (Music On Demand)
7. it has been known to fix other things as well but these are the main points
and more.

How Can I Upgrade My Software?
Go to your local corporate verizon store and they will upgrade it for you
How Can I Remove The Verizon Banner And Startup And Shutdown Sounds?
-to remove the verizon banner go to menu>settings and tools>display>banner>ERI banner> set it to off
-to remove the startup/shutdown sound go to menu>settings and tool>sounds>power on/off sound>set it to off
How Do I Choose Where To Save My Media?
by default, it’s stored in the Phone Memory. However, you can change the ” Save Options” and have it saved to the card.

What do people think of the LG Dare cell phone’s calendar? But I have to say I’m disappointed in the LG Dare Calendar, the calendar is an eyesore. I have the black theme and when I bring up calendar it looks like a horrible nightmare. LG Randomness

With the LG Dare, you make an appointment and then you have to then select an end time on your own because the pre-selected end time is often earlier or much later than the start time you’ve chosen. Also, the default is to have an alarm for all entries. A little frustrating.

LG Shine with strange Vibration

My neigbor has got the LG KE970 Shine cell phone for over two months. LG Randomness

Recently his phone’s been acting a little strange. He have keytones turned off but lately after he end a phone call, the keytones turn back on. The settings still say they’re off and the only way to fix it is to restart the LG KE970 Shine cell phone.

Nowadays after he hangup a phone call the phone started vibrating and would not stop, even after turning the phone off. As soon as he touch the battery to the LG KE970 Shine cell phone, it continues to vibrate.

It’s really a strange matter, so here I write for help is there any solutions about that? If not, he has to go for repair.

LG Dare – Free games?

I have got LG dare cell phone for some time, I really want to play some good games in my LG dare cell phone, so I try to find the free dare games for a long time, but at last, I failed. LG Randomness

Just as far as I know, there is nowhere you can download the free dare games at all. I look for some well-known forum, but they just said: well, using bitpikm it is possible to copy files from ur phone and distribute them, so I’m hoping to get a collection of games from friends that way, which i’ll happily share here, and hopefully others will too. Just like that.

It’s may the best answer to me, maybe sometime I would find a real free lg dare phone games from forums, and I’ll share it to you, you, and you.

Download the latest Test version of BitPim from sourceforge page

USB:

Install drivers from the Music Essentials Kit or install the VCast Music Manger from here: V CAST Music Manager Download
Plug the LG Voyager cell phone in
Start BitPim – Edit > Settings > Browse. Make sure the ‘LGE CDMA USB Serial Port’ is the port being used in the com port field.
Set the LG Voyager cell phone type to LG-VX10000 – Get Phone Data
Go to Filesystem (if you don’t have the Filesystem link then View > Show Filesystem), expand it, and navigate to \Brew\16452\lk\mr (or \Brew\10889\ringtones)
Right click in the mr (or ringtones) folder and select “New”
Browse to your ringtone and click “ok”
Restart the LG Voyager cell phone.

Nothing other than the Filesystem tab will work unless the phone is supported as an option under “phonetype”.
Bluetooth:

This is similar to the above but first you must pair the LG Voyager cell phone and pc and get the Serial BT DIAG profile to connect one time.
With widcomm drivers you have “My Bluetooth Places” – go there and double click on the icon representing your phone.
Double click the BT DIAG icon to connect.
Take note of the com port that this connection uses (right click on the BT DIAG icon to see the port).
Use this in the com port field in BitPim
Follow the instructions for USB.

If you have some other Bluetooth drivers the process should be similar.

Easy Mp3 Ringers for LG Cell Phone

Alright since I hate soundforge, and all the people trying to explain how to get Mp3 ringers on your phone… here is how I finally got it done.
This is for windows users.
You will need BitPim .62 for the LG VX6000 cell phone(LG Randomness), as well as a CD Ripping program called CDex, found at
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/c…1.exe?download
Install CDex, and open it up.
Click on the Convert menu, and click where it says “Convert compressed audio files to WAV files”
Then Browse and find your Mp3.
Click convert, and make note of where the new .wav is saved.
Then use Sound Recorder (standard windows program — Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder — ) to open up the .wav file, and crop the part of the song you want as a ringer.
Once the file is the size you want it, go to file and then save.
Use CDex once again to reverse the conversion — Click Convert and then click “Convert .wav files to compressed audio files”.
That’s all you need to do. Then just use BitPim .62 to add the file to your phone.

This MAY work on your VX series LG cell phones for verizon. It has been tested on my LG vx9800 cell phone(LG Randomness) and my girlfriends LG vx8100 cell phone. All you need to know is your phone number.
This works on:

2. Let it reprogram your phone
3. Now your unlock code should be the last 4 digits of your phone number.
