Instructions for unlocking Bootloader on LG Optimus L5 E610/E612/E615:

1. Download and install usb drivers
2. Make sure your phone is successfully rooted
3. Make sure you download the right file that I listed above
4. MAKE A BACKUP
5. Extract the file, place the “emmc_appsboot.bin” to the root of your internal sdcard (/sdcard/emmc_appsboot.bin)
6. Make sure you have USB debugging enabled. Phone should be in "Charge only" mode.
7. Connect your LG Optimus L5 into the PC via USB cable.
8. Open command prompt, type the following in command prompt and press enter between commands
   • adb shell
   • su
9. Press "grant" or "allow" on your phones screen if SuperUser or SuperSU asks for root permissions.
10. Continue with the following commands:
    • dd if=/sdcard/emmc_appsboot.bin of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5
    • reboot

How to update / Flash LG Optimus L5 Steps:

1. Download and install the usb driver
2. Download and extract KDZ_FW_UPD_EN.zip
3. Double click msxml.msi
4. Put your phone into emergency mode (When your boot into emergency mode, you should see a yellow screen with Emergency mode written on it, connect your phone to the PC via the USB Cable).
5. Launch the program KDZ_FW_UPD.exe
6. Type: 3GQCT, PhoneMode: DIAG
7. Find the ROM XXX_00.kdz
8. Click Launch software update
9. Wait for the phone to reboot. Enjoy.

Download Mode is a state where you are allowed to flash firmware through LG KDZ Update tool or other desktop software.

How to access Emergency Download Mode on LG Optimus L5 Steps:

1. Shut down your device, remove and re-insert the battery
2. Press and hold both the “Vol Up” and “Vol Down” buttons.
3. Press the Power button
4. As soon as the screen turns on insert the USB cable to your computer

If successful, You will a LG Home screen with a syncing sign at the center bottom of the screen and above it will be written “Downloading in progress, please do not disconnect or power off the phone.”
