How to fix ClockworkMod Recovery BootLoop on LG Esteem

There is a known boot loop issue when installing ClockworkMod Recovery (CWM) on the LG Esteem. If you’re stuck now in recovery bootloop. Every time you reboot, it only goes straight to Clockworkmod recovery. Here is the guide for you to get rid of the bootloop.

Download:

How to:

  1. Power your LG Esteem down by holding the power button until it turns off.
  2. Remove your SD card and place it in your PC or card reader.
  3. Copy the file you down loaded above in the root directory of your SD card (not in any folder)
  4. Instert the SD card into your LG Esteem and get your phone into ClockworkMod Recovery
  5. Once you boot into CWM do the following from the menu choices:
    1. wipe cache partition
    2. advanced > -Wipe Dalvik Cache
    3. install zip from sdcard
    4. choose zip from sdcard
    5. select the zip file you saved to SD card and then yes
  6. reboot and you should be Good to go

CyanogenMod 10 now available for LG Esteem 4G

LG Esteem 4G owners would be glad to know that the Android 4 based custom rom, CyanogenMod 10 has arrived, though still a pre-alpha version. We believe that there are still a few issues with the build, but it mostly sounds like a solid operating system. right?

Will you be giving Cyanogenmod 10 a try on your LG Esteem 4G?  Let us know how it works for you!

How to install:

  1. Make sure you’ve install the latest CWM on your phone
  2. BACKUP BACKUP BACKUP
  3. Wipe data/factory reset
  4. Flash ROM
  5. Flash GAPPS
  6. Reboot, let it sit for a few minutes to settle in
  7. Reboot, and have fun

How to install the stock app APKs on LG Esteem steps:

  1. Download ALL APKs that you need/want.
  2. Paste onto your SD Card(Internal or External, don’t bother trying to install).
  3. Open a Root Browser of your choice and move all downloaded APKs to “system/app”.
  4. Reboot phone for changes to take affect and all downloaded APKs should be installed.
