LG enV3 Tips – Editing wap Settings Menu:

What you need? BitPim does this. The very last thing in the /browser/setting/fileDB is "srvMenuAccessable" (not sure why they spell accessible wrong) and then the value, which is a 0. Just change that 0 to a 1 and you are able to then edit the WAP Settings via the Service Menu. LG Phone Problem and Solution

Use BitPim to copy the /browser/setting/fileDB back to the PC.. Use a hex editor and change that 0 to a 1… use Bitpim to overwrite the /browser/setting/fileDB with your edited one. After restarting your phone, access the Service Menu and go -> Wap Setting… and adjust the values as needed…

A lot of Bugs should be fixed in the next firmware release of the LG enV3 Firmware.

1. extremely slow/laggy when texting. the phone sometimes takes a second to catch up with when texting quickly. LG-enV3 info

2. can’t multi task like the env2 did. by this i mean, if i’m composing a message and someone texts me, on the env2 you could read that text, then simply hit clear and go back to composing your message. On the EnV3 it dumps your message into the saved drafts. Also, if i’m using backup assistant or surfing the web or checking my email, i can’t read a message and go back to what i was doing. the phone just cancles whatever i was doing. VERY annoying.

3. the phone doesn’t add words to the t9 dictionary. many of my contacts names aren’t in the dictionary, and anything i type on the qwerty keyboard isn’t added to t9 like the env2 did. "haha" isn’t even in the t9 dictionary!

4. Noticeably worse reception than the EnV2.

5. Worse battery life (if this is just because of a faster processor or something then this is fine. not really an issue but it would be great if a software update could make it more efficient)

6. unlocking glitch. sometimes when i get a text it unlocks, but only the okay button, and it keeps saying "press okay to unlock" but when i do that it just keeps acting like it is unlocked, resulting in me replying with a blank message because i hit okay, reply, send while trying to unlock it.

7. It takes far too long to move the cursor/delete things in text messages. it should work like a computer where if i hold left/right or delete, it should start moving the cursor/deleting characters quickly. Not many phones have this and if the env3 did it would truly make it the ultimate messaging phone.

Preparation Requirements

Fully charge the battery.
It is recommended that you save any important data onto the PC using the PC Sync. Feature.
Close PC Sync/applications before proceeding with the update.
Calling and messaging functions are not available during the update process.
Remove the SD card.
Do not disconnect the USB cable until the update is complete. Disconnecting the USB cable or interrupting the update process before it is complete may cause your handset to fail to operate.
The handset is automatically reset during this process.
The update takes approx. 10-30 minutes depending on the model and downloading environments

1. USB connection mode setting
   In order to SW upgrade start,
   Phone USB connection mode should be setup up to “PC suite”
    1) Power on the phone
    2) Connect USB cable to the phone
    3) Select “PC suite”,
       when USB connection mode pop-up appeared in the mobile

2.Problem with communication between cell phone and PC
    > Found new hardware wizard (Flash Loader utility ) will appear while upgrading software.
       Click next and then click Continue Anyway for Windows logo certification popup.
       Click Finish to complete installation.
    > Please disconnect the cable from your cell phone ->Remove battery.
       Next : Click Retry Button -> Connect the cable from your cell phone.
       You can do phone software upgrade.
    > Disconnect the cable from your cell phone -> Connect the battery -> Phone Power on

Have you downloaded the drivers from the LG Website and installed the them for your Verizon LG enV3 but not works? Are you having trouble with Bitpim finding your phone? I originally bought the Verizon LG Dare because I didn’t have many texting, but after I started to do some texting, I realized the Dare is not convenient and I really needed a "texting" phone, So finally I making up my mind to buy the Verizon LG enV3, it’s my 3rd Verizon LG Phone since joining Verizon about 3 years ago. After a few days playing with, I was able to do it with ease and speed. I have to say the Verizon LG enV3 phone is the most convenient texting phone I have ever owned. I love this phone. When I got the Verizon LG enV3 phone, I even couldn’t put it down. I like the phone in a small sleek body and fits comfortably in my pocket and purse. The Verizon LG enV3 does everything I want it to do, and more. Like the Idea of a full keyboard unlike the Dare which was a touch screen and always typed something different then what I had pressed. The keys are large enough to use and the screen is great! The internal screen is the perfect size and the camera has an amazing resolution. Speakers are nice and loud. The battery life is pretty good compared to many phones available, but still nothing impressive, a 2-5 day life depending on how much you use it (when using the internet, battery life drains faster). Sometimes when I am on the internet, the phone will restart, but seems to only happen with high content pages such as youtube. LG-enV3 info
