Does every body know how to set default number in favorites on LG Chocolate Touch? If you add a contact to Favorites that has 2 or more phone numbers, then you may not seem to set the default number to call. It always calls the cell number it seems. LG Phone Problem and Solution

To fix it:

If you have the # already typed in “pick” the number – the numeric pad will pop up.
Then in the upper right corner of the screen there is a little “list” looking icon.
press that – pick the option “Set As Default” and that will fix your problem.

The main idea of this is to teach you how to add your custom flash wallpapers to your LG Chocolate Touch. You can create interactive, content rich backgrounds for your phone’s home screen. You then replace the stock "fun animation" wallpapers that came with your phone and BAM, you’ve got yourself a spiffy looking phone. Okey, below is the instruction on how to add your custom flash wallpapers to your LG Chocolate Touch. LG-Chocolate Touch info

Once you have your LG Chocolate Touch connected via bitpim, navigate to FileSystem/Flash/UI/Wallpapers
In this folder you should see five different files. If you read the titles of each, what they are should become clear; they are the 4 "fun animations"! These are the files that we will need to replace with our custom wallpapers.
Before we go about changing anything, make sure you back-up the stock "fun animations" by right clicking and saving them to our computer.
Now, right click on one of the files in bitpim and select "overwrite". Then navigate to the custom .swf wallpaper file on your computer and click open. This will replace the stock animation with your custom one. You do not have to rename your files before overwriting the ones on the LG Chocolate Touch.
Try to remember which number wallpaper you overwrite, because they will still have their stock names when viewed on the phone. If it’s wallpaperType3Sub.swf then it will show up as the third wallpaper down in the "Fun Animations" menu on the phone.
To display these on your LG Chocolate Touch, go to Menu/Settings & Tools/Display Settings/Wallpaper/Fun Animations and then choose the corresponding wallpaper that you replaced, and press set.
Now you should see your custom flash wallpaper!
If you need to restore the original wallpapers, simply redo these steps, but replace your custom swf files with the stock ones that you backed up earlier in this guide.

How To Add Custom Ringtones to LG Chocolate Touch without Bitpim

The default ringtones that comes with the LG Chocolate Touch are pretty basic and blank. You can, instead, use your own piece of music as a ringtone on your LG Chocolate Touch. Bitpim is a good tool, but sometimes it didn’t even work for somebody. So here is an instruction on how to add custom ringtones to LG Chocolate Touch with Bitpim! LG Phone Problem and Solution

How to:

Back up anything that you have on your micro sd card.
Put in a memory card in memory card slot in phone.
Format the card using your cell phone.(Menu, Settings, Memory, Card Memory & then format the card. Your code is the last four digits of your cell number.) This erases everything on the card puts all the necessary folders on the memory card to put in your wallpapers and ringtones. LG-Chocolate Touch info
Put the memory card in your computer or in memory card reader so that your computer can read the card. Access it thru My Computer and open the ringtone folder/my pix folder, etc.
Drag and drop your ringtones into the ringtone folder or wallpapers in the pix folder… it’s as simple as that!

Adding Images and Ringtones onto LG Chocolate Touch through Bitpim

Do you know how to add games, ringtones, music and images from bitpim onto LG Chocolate Touch? LG-Chocolate Touch info

Go to www.bitpim.org and download the latest official version.
Once Bitpim is installed, run it and plug in your phone.
Click OK when Bitpim says it has detected your phone.
In the far left window of Bitpim you will see a menu (Basically, this is your phone), click on Filesystem. (If you cannot see the menu for Filesystem, click on View at the top of the bitpim window and make sure there is a check next to "View Filesystem")
This will open a middle window with a folder icon. Click on the + sign to expand that folder. It might take a couple of seconds to open, as it is reading your phone.
Click on the + sign next to the folder labeled Brew.
Click on the + sign next to the folder labeled Mod.
Click on the folder labeled 10888 for pictures or 10889/ringtones for ringtones. The window on the right will now show all the pictures or ringtones currently on your LG Chocolate Touch.
Drag and drop the wallpapers or ringtones you have saved on your computer into that far right window.

You’re done. Reboot your LG Chocolate Touch using Bitpim, or do it manually, and the games, ringtones, music and images should be there.

The LG Chocolate Touch – Need4 3gp converter seems to do a great job. The instructions are: LG Cell Phone Software

1. start the converter, browse to your video of choice on the top right
2. choose the "optimal quality (*.3g2)" profile setting on the right drop down menu.
3. click settings right below that menu, a window will pop up.
4. change video format to mpeg4, size to 320×240 qvga, frame rate to either 23.976 or 29.994 fps depending on your source (choose the one that closely fits either of those two, everything else just leave alone. LG-Chocolate Touch info
5. click ok and hit the convert button on the main screen, bottom right hand corner. Wait for it to convert for a few minutes and upload onto the internal or card "my_flix" folder. It should now appear under your videos folder in your phone.

The Verizon LG Chocolate Touch comes with a large 3 inch touch screen display with 240 x 400 pixels resolution, a 3.2 megapixels resolution camera, Bluetooth 2.1, GPS and more. LG Cell Phone Reviews

Pros: Amazing music player & sound quality. Better than any MP3 player I have experienced. Dolby equalizer presets are great. Also contains a search field to find specific songs(great for when you have hundreds of songs and want to find a specific one fast). Has a "Join the Band" application where you can play a drum set or piano with a song or pause the song to play your own tunes(cute, but not very useful). FM radio works great, very loud and clear with plenty preset buttons. Reception was better than the radio in my car. Has Song ID that can tell you the name of the song, artist and album but I am almost sure that uses some data. LG-enV touch info

Easy to transfer music with the included usb cable or to add your own custom ringtones and wallpapers via micro sd card. I have XP and it installed everything I needed just by plugging the phone in. I accessed the phones 1GB internal memory through My Computer and put my music in there with no problem.

Thin, stylish design. Not too heavy and not light enough to feel cheap. Made of metal and plastic.

Spacious home screen with drag and drop shortcuts, a lot like a desktop on a computer. Can also use animated wallpapers. Real calendar, clock, notepad widgets.

Fairly customizable; You can put your own custom ringtones on your micro sd card and apply them to your contacts/call/text tones and do the same with your pictures or wallpapers. Choose from 3 different menu fonts but only two themes.

Has proximity sensor so that when you put the phone to your ear it turns off the display, when you pull it away it turns it back on.

When you turn the phone sideways in text, music or browser mode it automatically adjusts to landscape mode thanks to the accelerometer.

Speakerphone is VERY loud and clear and has an easy to access button on left side of the phone for that option as well as an Unlock button, music and camera button.

I love the touch slide up unlock feature. But if you prefer not to fool with the touch unlock just press the unlock button on the side of the phone twice.

Texting is fun with the full qwerty keyboard and usually pretty accurate unless you are going super fast and then it makes some mistakes. You can change the key size to large for fewer mistakes. Also has T9 and various settings for predicting text. I don’t think that any virtual keyboard is going to be as accurate as a hardware keyboard, but it does the job without the bulk of a keyboard. Has PEN mode that lets you draw out the letters using your finger instead of typing them in. It’s a cool feature but I think that is too time consuming and hard to do with a finger. It also has a drawing pad feature that you can draw a message/picture and send it as a picture message.

Cons: Full HTML web browser was disappointing at best. Not Java enabled, can not download images or mp3s from the web browser(which is to be expected anyway). Must go to Verizon URL entry page every single time you want to enter a URL. Does not have URL entry bar at top of browser.

Camera doesn’t have flash(WHY!!?), picture quality is decent but not amazing and has a slight shutter delay as do most cell phones.
Screen isn’t as bright as I would have liked, but it’s acceptable. Seems to be very responsive and accurate, except that it sometimes selects what your finger lands on when scrolling through the menus.

It only has two color themes but since they are only really visible when in a menu it’s no big deal for me.

Social network shortcut isn’t what you think… it’s only a shortcut to text message your status updates or pictures. It’s nice, but not an actual application like what I expected. I am glad that it doesn’t use data though.

You have to take the batter COVER off to access the micro sd slot but at least you don’t have to remove the battery itself.

You must have the earbuds plugged in to use the FM radio and it does not come with earbuds(again, WHY? lol). Also, I would have loved to seen the FM transmitter on this phone and a FM radio record option.

Call quality seems to be average in my opinion, I say average because I have heard a little bit of static on my end where I have never heard any with my old PPC 6800.

I would have liked for the battery covers to be metal instead of plastic because that chrome coating starts to peel off after awhile making it look very cheap and ugly(my husband has the LG Rhythm and the chrome is all but gone from the plastic). They may have to be plastic in order to snap on though, so who knows. The battery cover colors should have also been unisex… there is NO way my husband is going to use a purple battery cover lol.

Overview: Overall, I recommend this to any music fanatic. On the other hand, if you are looking for a phone with excellent browsing/web downloading capabilities, I suggest just going with a smart phone.

My girl friend has just bought a new LG Chocolate Touch and today she asks me how to turn off EV-DO (now they actually call it "3G") on his new touch phone. She heard it saves battery life. So I browsed and found a way to turn if off and share it to you folks if it is helpful!

LG Chocolate Touch Tips – Turn off EV-DO to Save battery Life Steps:

1. Dial ##PROGRAM8575 (##77647268575) and press Send
2. Press "0" six times or however many it allows
3. Choose #3 Network Select
4. Choose #1 Mode Preference
5. Then select 1x Only

Then clear out of the service menu.

To turn EV back on go through the same steps except choose Digital Only Hybrid not 1x Only. LG-Chocolate Touch info
