The LG Revolution VS910 has a small update according to Verizon. The 46.8MB software update takes the LG Revolution from software version VS910ZV9 to VS910ZVB.

If you have not yet received the update notification on your LG Revolution, you can manually download it by going to Settings > About phone > System updates > Check New. The update takes roughly ten minutes to download and install.

Device Enhancements

  • Multiple Android Security patches have been added.
  • Mobile IM, Rockband, Bitbop, Verizon Apps, Blockbuster, Rhapsody, VCAST Music, and Verizon Video preloads have been removed from the device.
  • GPS now works with VZW Family locator app
  • Large file size no longer doubles on network
  • Google Maps Services has been updated

So the wait continues for some ICS love for the Verizon LG Revolution VS910, but some update is better than no update.

A few weeks ago T-Mobile announced an update to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean P76920d for the LG Optimus L9, much to the delight of the handset’s owners everywhere. Unfortunately, it looks like the T-Mobile LG Optimus L9 owners will have to go back to waiting for JB once again, as T-Mobile and LG have put things on hold due to some issues with the update. The following statement can be found in a support document which was released yesterday from the carrier:

  • Beginning May 7, the LG Optimus L9 Software update to Android verison 4.1.2 software P76920d has been paused. LG has paused the update to improve performance on the new software version.

Some users who had installed this update complained about apps frequently crashing, battery draining and having difficulties in receiving calls. There’s no word yet on when the update process might get going once again. Obviously we’ll pass along more details as soon as we get them.
