I’ll start off with a negative, the over the ear hook has already been replaced twice in 2 months. The first one broke after only 3 days. Verizon and lg have both been good about replacing the ear hooks, as it appears to be a common issue. I will say most probably won’t use the ear hook at all, as it comes with 3 sizes of easy to change rubber ear buds. It’s lightweight and comfortable to wear all day, as long as you select the proper size ear bud.

It holds a charge all day and has lasted well past the advertised 5 hours of talk time specified. I actually have yet to kill the battery, even after working 12-14 hour days with a majority of that spent on the phone. The echo/noise reduction work nicely, I have no trouble communicating on the phone at freeway speeds, and both of my vehicles are far from quiet(sports car and suv).

It has a nice feature of announcing the incoming calls by the persons name, if in your phone book and supported by your phone or by the number calling, albeit in a somewhat robotic voice. This saves you having to glance at the phone while driving to see who’s calling. The volume rocker and on/off button are both easy to use while wearing. It also has the standard voice dialing, last number redial, call waiting, call reject and auto-reconnect features.

The entire clear piece surrounding the circular on/off button flashes in a neon blue, which you can select to turn off if not to your liking. The charging port is micro usb, the new standard apparently as I have 2 other devices with the same. It charges quickly after a full day of use only taking about 2 hours. It is available in some hip groovy colors the cool kids might like, pink, purple and dark blue. I ended up choosing silver, as I’m a working class drone.

I have had the LG HBM-800 bluetooth headset for a few days, and I looked high and low for it, it’s really good while using my LG Versa. The first thing I noticed was that it was lightweight, but not super comfortable inside my ear. It did start to hurt a little bit after my 30 min commute. LG Cell Phone Accessories

After making and receiving several calls with the unit. Here are my opinions:

The speakerphone is clear and loud enough.
People on the other side of the conversation had no problems hearing me. Note: I can’t speak in to it when it’s right in front of me. The mic is on the left side so you would need to talk to it when fastened to the right side of the car visor.
My phone has GPS and I was able to use the speakerphone to get audible directions without a hitch.
If I go out of range and come back I get reconnected with a push of a button, except when the headset automatically turns off after some time. The cradle doesn’t turn off automatically.

But the LG HBM-800 bluetooth headset has small controls, and we wish it had a more comfortable fit. The call quality could be improved. Overall, despite a few issues, the LG HBM-800 bluetooth headset is a good solution if you want both a Bluetooth headset and a speakerphone in one package.

Pros: Within a minute of putting this headset on I was impressed with how comfortable it was and I like its compact design. With a little bit of time I had not trouble with fumbling around for the right button.
The headset paired with my iPhone 3G without any hassles and the call quality was good.

I keep the headset in my car and only use it while driving so it’s important for the headset to quickly power on and connect with my phone when I get a call (I don’t like wearing headsets when I don’t have to). The HBM-520 boots up fast which is great.

Cons: It would have been nice if the headset’s ear cushion detached and LG included extra cushions of different sizes. I don’t like how the charge plug is some weird looking proprietary thing, just like the plug on my old Jabra headset.

If you lose the wall charger you’re in trouble. If you want to charge it in your car you need to buy a dedicated charger you’ll never use for anything else. I’d like to see manufacturers use a common mini USB connector instead.

User Reviews: I’ve used LG HBM-520 Bluetooth Headset for over a month and I find it a joy. Callers have no problem hearing me I have no problem hearing them. I like the fact that there is a separate control for power and one for handling calls. It’s compact and I find I’m able to drive and walk without using the small ear clip that it comes with. With the Power off, press and hold the PWR button for 1 second, to turn on the HBM-770.
The Headset will enter Auto-Reconnect mode, for 10 seconds (If your headset has been previously paired to the handset, the headset will automatically reconnect to the handset, when the HBM-770 is powered on.)
After 10 seconds, the HBM-770 will automatically enter Paring Mode.
When the headset enters Pairing Mode, the LED indicator will show a solid blue light
Using your handset, find the Bluetooth Menu and "search for" or "add" new devices.
Select "LG HBM-770" from the list of devices and pair it with your handset.
When asked for the Pass/PIN code during the pairing procedure, please enter "0000" (4 Zeros).
Once pairing has completed successfully, you will hear a beep.
After pairing successfully, be sure to "Connect" to the LG HBM-770.
If you want to pair with a different device in the future, the Headset must be placed in Pairing Mode.

In my quest to GPS enable the LG Vu I acquired a Holux M 1200 (http://www.holux.com/JCore/en/products/products_content.jsp?pno=227) from Amazon for $45. LG Cell Phone Accessories

It’s around the size of a cigarette lighter. I had trouble getting most software to talk to it until I got Mobile Gmaps: http://www.getjar.com/products/8701/MobileGMaps

It’s working and does turn by turn directions a la google maps along with showing your location. It allows you to find a destination and plot route from your current position, which is really all I needed. LG Cell Phone Software

Just wanted to post this working setup to save people trouble. The M1200 comes with a mini usb charger which is also handy for my Sansa Clip, which I also use in the car. It is a 32 channel GPS and locks on really fast, even while sitting in my console, which has a handy cig lighter place to plug in the charger. LG-Vu info

I just paired it to the LG Vu using the bluetooth menu, then Mobile Gmaps was able to list it as a device under the GPS menu and connected right up.
