The LG Arena measures 105.9 x 55.3 x 11.95 and has a 3-inch WVGA display, a Schneider-Kreuznach 5 megapixel camera with autofocus capability, GPS navigation support, Wi-Fi connectivity, 8GB internal memory, a microSD card slot expandable up to 40GB and supports AT&T’s own 3G bands. It also has LG’s unique 3D S-Class user interface and provides a more finger-friendly and media-aware layout than at least some other devices in its class.  LG-Arena info

The LG Arena will be available at AT&T for $199 with a new two-year plan and only after a $50 mail-in rebate or online discount. Online sales will start on February 26th, while retail will have the LG phone by March 7th.

Make sure you have already installed the pc suit III and updated to the latest version.

If you not yet install the PC suit III, you can find it at here. Follow the steps to install the PC suit II, then restart you pc.. LG Phone Problem and Solution

The UptestEX tool tutorial:  LG-Arena info
1.) donwload the UpTestEX_1.0.4.6 and the windows enabler at the first post..
    * here the new UpTestEX_1.0.4.8 ( 14,11,09 ) by marwin
    * UpTestEX_1.0.4.8  the one i use! in mediafire
    * windows_enabler 184kb << in mediafire
    * here the new 17.12.2009- UpTestEX_1.0.5.6  Original  by marwin
2.) make a folder  ( name you want ) ( save where you want ) and then extract both  UptestEX and Windows Enabler on that one folder folder.. you will combine the two when you extract.. so like this
3. copy also the firmware you want to flash on that folder..
4.  install the windows enabler, then you well see the icon on the lower right beside the time and click once the icon to activate..

5.  connect the phone to the usb and via pc suit..
6. open the UptestEX.exe.. here a picture
  Once the R&D test tool is open you can see that all the field is GRAYED But you can click on the field even if still GRAYED

LG Arena tips for multitasking -  How to keep the music player on with a Java application running:

  1. Run whatever Java App you want
  2. Hold down the middle cube button until that multitasking menu comes up
  3. Go to music player.. choose whatever song you wanna play, playlist whatever
  4. Now click. umm touch on the back arrow which takes you back to the main screen and go to your java app through the normal menus (doesn’t work if you try and go back to the apps through the multitasking menu)
  5. The app that you had running will have a little ‘pause’ thingie next to it… Click on it… yaeeyaa right back into it

Now you got the music running in the background with whatever application you want running and there you have it folks.. cool huh… im sure half of you have already figured this out… this is for the other half. LG-Arena info

WARNING: Phone tends to freeze itself if you tend to go back and forth between the player and the app more than a couple of times so I suggest you set it on a playlist or something…. Also this doesn’t work if you try and run an app after you run the music player… that just turns the music off… so yea.

If it doesn’t work for you, I believe it has something to do with your firmware version. Hope it helps you, enjoy!

Most are just for testing various things such as the led and flash. You can also view the full versioning of the firmware. When you select ‘factory reset’ there is no options given to cancel or select yes or no it will go straight into processing a factory reset!! Don’t select it if you haven’t backed up your data!! Electronista reports that a variant of the LG Arena has been spotted in some pictures that have appeared online seem to indicate that the LG Arena GT950 will hitting AT&T’s network, but we’re not sure if it will be called Arena or not though (probably not). Menu > Settings > Map Browsing: Activate the options "Stored Maps" and "Off-line Mode"
In "Storage Path" set "Other/MGMapsCache" (the maps you have to generate using Mapcacher(map Creation Tool for MGMaps) and gMapMaker, copy the whole MGMapsCache folder created by gMapMaker to the Others folder in your phone.)
In option “Memory Cache (Kb)” set the value 65536.
In Menu > Settings > Display, in option Coordinate Format select (DD.ddddd). Restart MGMaps
In Menu > Map Types > Not Available check the option Google Maps.
In Menu > Maps Type > Yahoo Maps uncheck all options.

Offline maps should be working.

Configure GPS in LG Arena phone:
Enter in Hide Menu ("calling" 1809#*900#)
Go to Others –> A-GPS Test –> Settings.
GPS Type: Standalone
Fix Type: Tracking
Operation Mode: Autonomous
SLP Mode: LGE SLP

Done!

Start MGMaps, put the LG Arena in your pocket, and go take a walk for about 20 minutes…your location will be marked with a blue dot. (an upside down Drop), Hope it helps… Working nice for me!! LG-Arena info

LG Phone tips – Changing the resolution of the java games

  1. Extract the jar file by using the Winzip
  2. Open the ‘META-INF’ folder 
  3. You will see a file called ‘MANIFEST.MF’, open it in notepad
  4. Now you must know 2 things to edit the file. First, you must know the original resolution of the game. Ususally this information can be found on the author’s website. Second, you must know the resolution of your screen. Then type the following two lines at the end of the text in the MANIFEST.MF file:
    Nokia-MIDlet-Original-Display-Size: www,xxx
    Nokia-MIDlet-Target-Display-Size: yyy,zzz
    In the example above ‘www,xxx’ represents the original resolution of the game. ‘yyy,zzz’ represents the resolution of your phone’s display.
    In the picture example below, the original game resolution is 176×208 and the target resolution of my screen (N80) is 352×416.5.
  5. Now save the changes in the MANIFEST.MF file and drag it back into the META-INF folder in your jar file to overwrite the old one.
  6. That’s it! Now install the jar to your phone and enjoy your full screen game…
