As reported yesterday, the Android 2.2 update is finally official, ready and heading for the Verizon LG Ally near you today. LG Android Phones
It has taken a very long time for Froyo to finally reach the LG Ally Android device, which has been on a roller coaster of sorts this summer from going out of stock thanks to high demand and the AMOLED shortage, to finally being available again. After months of rumors about when the much-awaited (highly needed?) upgrade would drop, it’s nice that this story can finally be put to rest. LG Cell Phone Software
Have any Verizon LG Ally owners received the Froyo update yet? And if so, how well is it working for you so far? LG-Ally info
Verizon Wireless is pleased to announce a new software update, LG VS740ZVD, for your LG Ally(TM). This update includes numerous enhancements and improvements, including an update to Android 2.2 OS (Froyo).
Enjoy improved performance with these OS enhancements.
Further information about the LG Ally update can be found through Verizon.

If you’re a not-so-proud owner of the LG Ally simply because it does not yet run on the Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, then it is time to crawl out from your shell. After all, the LG Ally will be receiving the Android 2.2 upgrade sometime in February. It’s hopped but unclear whether that Android 2.2 Froyo update will support Adobe Flash Player 10.1 or live wallpapers. After that, it is time to wait for Android 2.3 Gingerbread, Let’s hope so.
