The LG Optimus G was one of the most popular devices of 2012. Following on from other carriers all over the globe, AT&T has begun pushing out their very own Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the LG Optimus G.

Jelly Bean for the LG Optimus G, or any device, for that matter — is a big deal. The software upgrade is a pretty sizeable 340MB and includes features like Google Now, Project Butter and expandable notifications. The stock ICS browser is being replaced by Google Chrome as well.

The new software is based on Android 4.1.2 — version E97020j — and rolls out in phases starting today. The update is going out OTA currently, you can head to Menu -> Settings -> General -> About phone -> Software Update to get the process started.
