LG G2 owners on T-Mobile are in for a treat today. The carrier branded version of the LG G2 is all set to receive its Android 4.4 Kitkat update. A full “how-to” has been provided courtesy of LG. The only problem is, it comes to the LG G2 via LG’s Mobile Support Tool, not over-the-air, so you’re going to have to use LG’s finicky Tool on your Windows PC to get the job done.
Be careful. Follow the directions carefully. And don’t forget to back up your apps, sync your contacts and charge that battery. Full instructions on how to do the update are available below. It’s not a very complicated process, but OTA updates are always more convenient for smartphone and tablet owners. So we often wonder why some manufacturers and carriers still prefer to do things the old-fashioned way.
How to update T-Mobile LG G2 to Android 4.4 Kitkat:
- Download and install the USB Driver for Windows and the LG Mobile Support Tool.
- Connect your phone to the computer using a USB cable.
- On the computer, select Start > Programs > LG Mobile Support Tool to launch the LG Mobile Support Tool.
- Click Start Updating in the LG Mobile Support Tool to begin the software update.
