Alright since I hate soundforge, and all the people trying to explain how to get Mp3 ringers on your phone… here is how I finally got it done.
This is for windows users.
You will need BitPim .62 for the LG VX6000 cell phone(LG Randomness), as well as a CD Ripping program called CDex, found at
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/c…1.exe?download
Install CDex, and open it up.
Click on the Convert menu, and click where it says “Convert compressed audio files to WAV files”
Then Browse and find your Mp3.
Click convert, and make note of where the new .wav is saved.
Then use Sound Recorder (standard windows program — Start>Programs>Accessories>Entertainment>Sound Recorder — ) to open up the .wav file, and crop the part of the song you want as a ringer.
Once the file is the size you want it, go to file and then save.
Use CDex once again to reverse the conversion — Click Convert and then click “Convert .wav files to compressed audio files”.
That’s all you need to do. Then just use BitPim .62 to add the file to your phone.

This MAY work on your VX series LG cell phones for verizon. It has been tested on my LG vx9800 cell phone(LG Randomness) and my girlfriends LG vx8100 cell phone. All you need to know is your phone number.
This works on:
LG vx9800 cell phone
LG vx8100 cell phone
DO:
1. *22899
2. Let it reprogram your phone
3. Now your unlock code should be the last 4 digits of your phone number.
if you try this and it works on your phone please post what model phone you have and i will edit my post for the list of phones it works with, and if it doesn’t work on your phone post that too. Thanx.

My friend got a LG Dare cell phone over the weekend. However, the primary issue is no good way of tracking memos on the LG Dare phone(LG Cell phone Accessories) and syncing them to my pc. So I advised him the Bitpim and which seems ok for the Contacts.

BitPim is a program that allows you to view and manipulate data on many CDMA phones from LG, Samsung, Sanyo and other manufacturers. This includes the PhoneBook, Calendar, WallPapers, RingTones (functionality varies by phone) and the Filesystem for most Qualcomm CDMA chipset based phones.
